I really like this place. I have been there many times, always with my kids and in a large group. Ribs, fish, Hamburgers and kids meals are the usual fare. I have always been very pleased with the service and the meal. Finish with the home made brownie sundae and everyone is assured to leave with a smile.
They have a great bar but I have never been able to enjoy it.
I can say the Fat Tire Ale is a treat
City Park Grill was originally 41 North. However, the City Park Grill Space was originally Metropolitan Cafe. Regardless, I think that City Park Grill is a fabulous little establishment.
The food is delicious. My favorite is the pretzel bread pulled BBQ chicken sandwich with fried onions. I have been eating this for years! I have been to a wedding shower here as well. They have a great private room with really nice decor. The service has always been great, and the owners are really friendly and aim to please.

City Park Grill was the perfect place for dinner on a snowy night. The restaurant is much bigger than I thought it would be, but still cozy, warm, and inviting. On one wall they have pictures of Highland Park landmarks such as Ravinia, very cute. Our waitress was nice, a little scatter brained, but got the job done. I ordered french onion soup and a chicken pesto panini. The french onion soup is perfect and comes with two large pieces of garlic bread. This seriously would be enough for dinner or lunch on its own. The chicken pesto panini was really good too, but did not top the soup. The chips they give you with the sandwich, were just eh. Not my favorite. My friend had the chicken pesto panini as well along with the house salad. They have drink specials throughout the week...I believe Wednesdays are $5 martinis and Thursdays are $3 glasses of wine (those would be the specials I'd remember). Anyway, they also have winter cocktails that sound AMAZING! I was really impressed and can't wait to go back.

The interior is very cosy and comfortable. It made us sort of ease into the meal. The wine list had good options and was really reasonable. I liked the variety on the menu...lots of good salad options, entrees, and sandwiches. We didn't order dessert, but the menu was tempting.
This place only gets 4 stars because the service was sort of MIA and they forgot to bring the "lemons on the side" for my salad. When we asked the server about it when he checked in with us, it didn't even register with him that he'd forgotten. Sigh.

This restaurant opened up on 11/7 and it is fabulous! It's from the owners of 41 North with a slightly different menu. I heard that Friday and Saturday were very busy, so I would get a reservation.
I went on Sunday night and the place was still busy, but we had the best waiter. He was kind and courteous and offered great recommendations. I had a great steak and it was perfect.
Their desserts are mostly from the old place and FABULOUS - if you're not sure what to choose, definitely go with the sampler platter - 4 small-sized great desserts to share.
I'll definitely be going back!

I nearly cried when I drove down Skokie Blvd and saw an empty lot where Forty-One North used to be.
No, I know I haven't reviewed this particular place but I'm positive it'll be as good as Forty-One North-same owners, same staff, and a lot of favorites from the old menu! I can't wait to go! I want my Bourbon Pecan Chicken!!!
